Unlocking the Art of Explaining Your Profession
BY PURPLE CO
As a Rehabilitation Counsellor, I've often found it quite challenging to put into words what I do and where my profession fits within the broader healthcare landscape. It's a journey that has taken me years, countless international speaking engagements, and interactions with individuals from around the globe to master the art of articulating the value of my role as a Rehabilitation Counsellor.
This struggle isn't unique to my profession. Many allied health professionals face the same challenge when asked to explain their work. It's like trying to capture the essence of what we do in a nutshell.
Recently, I had the privilege of being interviewed by Peta Phelan on the Rehabilitation Counselling Podcast. During our conversation, we explored various facets of how I convey the essence of my role as a Rehabilitation Counsellor.
I believe you'll find our discussion enlightening and inspiring, encouraging you to reflect on how you describe your own profession.
